Cold Heading
![]() Deringer-Ney, Marshall, North Carolina - Your Cold Heading Company for small and medium parts. Over 30 years of experience as a cold heading and cold forming manufacturer. Our focus is precision cold formed parts at reasonable prices. Our technology includes cold forming and cold heading of a wide variety of metals including copper, nickel, kovar, brass, steel, stainless steel, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, tantalum and other alloys. With the cold forming process it is often feasible to make parts from difficult to machine alloys. Cold Forming technology is also well suited to the production of many medical applications. |
![]() With cold forming technology, parts can be produced at much higher speeds and therefore at lower cost than machined parts. At the same time the cold heading - cold forming process produces high quality parts. Cold Heading is a process with both cost and quality advantages. Our cold heading process offers stronger parts with uninterrupted grain structures of the metals providing for superior fatigue performance over machined parts. Cold Formed parts are made to net or near net shape at higher speeds with no material waste and more material options. Cold forming is economical! We cold form parts at a high production rate – thousands of parts per hour - compared to screw machining, which runs at hundreds of parts per hour. Since in cold heading there is no metal removal, the material cost is minimized. There is no cutting away of scrap material for expensive recycling. Cold headed parts are formed to net shape, often with a high luster finish. Cold formed parts can be priced at 50-70% of the cost of machined parts |
