Types of Contacts Precision Four-Slide Parts In addition to standard contact stampings, Deringer produces four-slide formed wires and other precision parts for a wide variety of applications in a broad spectrum of industry. Typical of the industries currently served are electrical/electronic, automotive, medical and dental, to name a few. Deringer can assist you in any application that requires a precision formed metal component. Four-slide forming is the ideal process for making wire and other precision parts because of its high speed, accuracy and low-cost tooling. It is used for producing wire and strip products that run the gamut from a complex electronic piece to a simple terminal or post. These are made not only from precious metals and their alloys but also from stainless steel, nickel silver, copper, beryllium copper and phosphor bronze. Deringer manufactures square wire parts in a wide variety of sizes and configurations-all uniformly. Parts are also made from round wire in a wide range of lengths and diameter sizes. Factors affecting these dimensions are relative size, material type and method of production. Wire sizes are .025 or .045 inch square and in diameters up to .100 inch. However simple these parts might appear, they require tight tolerances of wire length, whether square cut-off or radius. Deringer can supply cut leads with a variety of ends-pinched, cut at angles, flattened, etc.
