Cold Heading Set-up Operator - 1st Shift
At Deringer-Ney, we invent specialty alloys and make precision manufactured parts for a wide variety of applications. Our products are in millions of devices used worldwide, including appliances, automobiles, switches, medical technologies, sensors, electronics, and many others.
We are one of the world’s largest producers of custom electrical contacts and contact assemblies for switches and controls. We make these contacts by cold forming, automatic welding, automatic staking, and brazing. We also produce continuously welded contact tape and tape cutoffs.
Capable of setting-up Heading machines such as Nakashimada, Sakamura, Ayşe, and Waterbury.
Ability to work independently in a job shop environment to set-up and operate a number of machines simultaneously.
Maintain compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications
Self-Inspection for Quality of all parts manufactured.
Seeks out creative ways to continuously improve the products and processes
Capable of diagnosing machine problems with minimal supervision.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The aptitude to set-up and run production, making machine adjustments, and tool settings.
Ability to measure high quality parts to print and follow detailed work instructions per our ISO quality systems, required.
Must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with multi-die (progressive) cold heading machines is highly desirable.
Trains coworkers as required
Education and Experience:
3 – 5 years of experience setting up and operating cold heading machines.
Ability to problem solve operating issues with Tool makers and Cold forming engineers.
