 Material Fabrication Operator - First Shift
Bloomfleld, CT

General operation of Materials Mill equipment, to include:  Weigh Scales, 2 High Rolling Mills, Slitters, Wire & Rod Rolling, Wire Drawing Intermediate and Fine, Draw Benches, Rod & Wire Straightening, Shape Rolling, Annealing Strip Furnaces, Batch Furnaces, & Strand Annealing Furnaces, Future Equipment and New Technology.

Duties Include:

• Work with Production Control and all other manufacturing departments to produce quality on time customer deliveries.
• Have full understanding of company policies, paperwork, and systems to repeatedly produce quality Materials products.
• Strive to continually improve processes, equipment efficiency, and quality.
• Be willing to train and operate various pieces of mill equipment as assigned by supervision.
• Review job requirements at the beginning of each shift.
• Notify supervision when any job may go “Overdue” and why.
• Inspect and sign off for quality on each operation, complete M2M reporting for each operation, and notify supervision of any non-conformances.
• Maintain material identity throughout processing.
• Follow operator and maintenance logs as required.
• Notify supervision of any equipment problems.
• Maintain tooling and equipment integrity on a daily basis and notify supervision in advance of potential needs
• Work with other operators to communicate, and coordinate job flow through the Materials Dept.
• Must maintain a neat and clean workplace.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must posses the knowledge and ability to operate the equipment above, or demonstrate the ability to be successfully trained.

Training and Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Basic math skills
• Legible writing skills
• Basic computer skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
