Screw Machine - Inspector Packager - Bloomfleld, CT
First shift position available

Then inspector performs a 100% visual inspection of screw machined implants ensuring aesthetic quality, cleanliness, and product integrity through appropriate packaging.

 

Duties Include:

 

With the use of a microscope, the inspector visually inspects all parts for surface quality defects such as:

  • Scratches
  •  Burrs
  • Material Voids
  • Turning Marks
  • Tooling Marks
  • Out of Concentricity
  • Lack of Edge Breaks
  • Foreign Matter and General Cleanliness

The Inspector will:

  • Wears Protective handware in order to maintain the cleanli9ness achieved by the ultrasonic cleaner
  • Records results of inspected product for evaluation of trends and corrective measures
  • Maintains records by shop order for schedule updating and shop floor status
  • Communicates with the operator and setup personal any problems with parts still in process
    requiring corrective action.

Additional Responsibilites:

  • Make suggestions for continous improvement
  • Performs Inventory transaction for issuing and removing tooling utilized on shop orders
  • Performs tooling inventory Cycle Counts to ensure inventory integrity
  • Assembbles Shop packets including tooling, blue prints and the shop order and travelers 
  • Maintains the file of department blueprints, re-filling of prints as shop orders are closed,
    obsoleting and replacing prints per the  ECO program as document by the ISO procedures.
  • Performs the process of cleaning of scrap turnings generated by screw machines.
  • Assists in the cleaning and traying of parts at the ultasonic cleaning system
  • Assists in the seperation of parts from turning scrap from the scew machines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilites:

  • Ability to perform inspections utilizing a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to differeniate minute imperfections in the inspection process.
  • Understanding of specific customer requirements through the use of blueprints and item QAP
  • Ability to maintain all documentatin requirements.
  • Knowledge of and capability to utilize PC software as it pertains to the accumulation and storage
    of inspection data.
  • Capable of making dependable judgement decisions of quality asspects not related to
    quantitative measurements
  • Able to commnicate  with and participate with team members

Training and Experience:

  • High School Education
  • Blue Print Reading
  • Understanding fo Geometric Cloerance a plus
  • Thorough understanding of customer requirements as they pertain to sufface and dimensional differences.
