Molding Operator A,  1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift
Bloomfleld, CT 
 

Duties Include:

  • Able to operate all molding equipment including Automated work cells:
    • Able to train new employees to a level B requirement.
    • A molding machine operator is able to purge assigned machine.
    • The operator is responsible for the loading of contacts / inserts, (sometimes using tweezers or  fixtures ) into a mold, transfer plate or other fixture.
    • Trim gates and flash using fixtures, knives or other means as required.
    • Package finished parts per shop order instructions.
    • Relieves higher priority machines as required
    • Performs daily process audits as required
    • Performs daily calibration audits as required.
  • Operates all  Auxiliary and  Quality Measuring Equipment:
    • Operate trim, degating and other tools as required.
    • Operates gram force inspection and other measuring equipment as required.
    • Performs all recordkeeping including electronic and paper
  • Inspects parts:
    • Inspects parts using magnification and other equipment as required
    • Maintains data collection files as required.
  • Sands, trims and performs other off-line duties as required.
  • Follows Q.S. guidelines such as filling in travelers, maintaining lot & scrap control and other procedures as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

 
  • Some mechanical ability.
  • Be able to use and operate basic switches and controls.
  • Have good eye/hand coordination
  • Be able to handle small parts with tweezers and other means as required.
  • Inspect for small defects on parts.
  • Accustomed to working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in working in a team atmosphere
