Receiving Warehouse Attendant, Bloomfield CT

The Receiving / Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the physical receipt, storage and distribution of warehouse materials.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret bills of lading and purchase orders.
  • Unload trucks as needed.
  • Operation of computer programs to generate receiving tickets, and program to post receipt of requisitioned goods.
  • Deliver received goods to destination within plant.
  • Delivery of customer returns to Quality Department.
  • In general, maintain clean, neat and orderly organization of Warehouse.
  • Know and follow handling procedures for precious metals and potentially hazardous/contaminated goods.
  • Assist with “cycle count” of specific Warehouse items (assist Inventory Control Attendant).
  • Deliver “packing slips” to H.R. on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
  • Determine need for specific warehouse supplies and reorder as needed.
  • Warehouse / Inventory Control experience an extreme plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of lading and purchase orders.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack safely.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Some knowledge of manufacturing computer operations.  Excel and Word experience preferred. 


TRAINING AND EXPERERIENCE:

  • Upon hire the receiving . warehouse attendant will be trained on the proper use of a forklift and pallet jack. Once Training is complete a license for both the forklift and pallet jack will be issued
