Senior Software Engineer - Bloomfield CT

 

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • In consultation with IT management and cooperation with IT staff; plans, schedules, and performs implementation of new software applications and upgrades of existing software applications such as ERP, CRM, Quoting, CAD, and more.
  • Development, customization and maintenance of Made2Manage ERP, Quality System, CRM System and other software packages used throughout the organization.
  • Report writing in SQL Server reporting Services (SSRS) and Visual FoxPro, converting the ERP reports from Visual FoxPro to SSRS, Crystal Reports and other reporting tools.
  • VB .net C# development for intranet site and maintenance of existing solutions.
  • SQL Server database administration – configuration, performance monitoring, tuning, migration, queries, stored procedure, data manipulation, backup and data recovery.
  • Data Analytics – use of BI software to analyze data; inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modeling data to show useful information to help the organization with better business decisions.
  • Assists in day-to-day monitoring and administrative tasks for IT services and software.
  • May be required to assist in installation and maintenance of peripheral devices, including, but not limited to printers, routers, switches, thin clients, etc. in accordance with IT and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists in analyzing system/network resources in order to improve and maintain IT services and network efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and work with other IT staff to ensure a high level of efficiency and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve various IT service and application issues.
  • Provide backup support to other IT staff as needed.
  • Add, remove, maintain application access, ensuring security and safeguarding configurations in accordance with IT department and organization standards and policies.
  • Assists in providing software / computer/network support relating to issues and concerns reported by users.
  • Develops and recommends approaches to software growth and enhancements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • On-call coverage will be required as needed.
  • Protects DNI’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Some travel required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Made2Manage or similar ERP software is required.
  • Experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools required.
  • VB .net C# development is a plus.
  • Four year IT related degree or similar experience required.
  • Experience in a client / server environment, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated analytic, written and verbal communication skills.
