Senior Staff Accountant

 

Description:

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment.  This position will provide accounting support for period end closes, financial reporting, inventory analysis and other areas such as payroll and cash management.  Some travel is required.

 

Principal Job Duties:

  • Manage precious metal accounting
  • Analyzing, reconciling and tracking precious metal inventory balances
  • Analyzing, reconciling and tracking inventory balances
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Tracking and maintaining capital expenditure reporting
  • Assisting in the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process
  • Assisting in the annual audit process
  • Performing general ledger analysis
  • Preparing complete and accurate journal entries
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Assist in training of new personnel
  • Completing financial and non-financial assignments as requested by management
     

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher
     

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, precious metals accounting preferred, but not required.
     

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Made2Manage, Synoptix, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, or similar
  • Experience in inventory, account and bank reconciliations
  • Ability to function/work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to solve problems and recommend comprehensive solutions
  • Demonstrates a sense urgency and timeliness
