Accounts Receivable Specialist – Temp to Perm Direct Hire

 

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have strong analytical, communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a team environment. The position will be responsible for collection of all deposits and remittance advices, including determining short pays, customer deductions, and any other differences for the cash application process. This position will also invoice customers, based on complex arrangements and contractual parameters.

 

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Pull customer remittances from lockbox.
  • Pull ACH and wire transfer information from the bank.
  • Match customer payments to invoices for any discrepancies and short payments.
  • Review and analyze deductions and credits to determine course of action required.
  • Perform AR collections via email and phone calls.
  • Work closely with sale and customer representatives on resolving any issues related to customers’ accounts.
  • Perform credit reviews on new and existing customers.
  • Set up new customers in the ERP system.
  • Serve as a backup to billing department (verify accuracy of shippers, create invoices and update metal market tables).
  • Completing financial and non-financial assignments as requested by management. 

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or higher.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cash application and AR collections.
SKILLS:
  • Excel
  • Online banking platforms
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Made-2-Manage, Synoptix, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, or similar.
  • Ability to function / work independently as well as in a team.
  • Ability to solve problems and recommend comprehensive solutions.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timelines.
