Customer Service / Purchasing Representative – Englewood, NJ

DESCRIPTION:
This will be a combination purchasing / customer service role for Deringer-Ney’s line of Hoyt PowerMet electrical components servicing the rail, transit, industrial, and utility markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create purchase orders for production materials.
-
MRO ordering (office supplies, safety supplies, etc.)
-
Raw material needs analysis and forecasting.
-
Vendor and customer communication.
-
Creating and sending vendor quotes.
-
Coverage on entering new sales orders.
-
Invoice vetting to Orders.
-
Processing credit card purchases
-
Updating the market price of metals on the Item Master Record

Expediting purchase orders and customer orders
-
Work closely with the application engineer to manage customer needs such as certs, factoring, and other account management details

Update customers on order status on the customer portal

Coordinate with the shipping department to track shipping information
SKILLS NEEDED:
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
-
Multilingual a plus

Ability for the following…

Use of an ERP / CRM system to create POs, update inventory masters, and daily customer account management
-
The use of an automated purchasing module
-
Understanding various units of measure for materials
-
Research and source new materials and parts based on specifications with the support of engineering
-
Microsoft Office Suite
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
High school diploma or GRE; degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years purchasing experience and 2 years customer service experience in a manufacturing environment; metal forming and fabrication a plus.
