Customer Support Representative - Bloomfield, CT

The Customer Support Representative will be the primary customer contact and the focal point of customer relationships. This position requires daily cross-functional communication between various parts of the Deringer-Ney organization including manufacturing, production control, engineering, quality, and outside sales in order to effectively support new customers as well as key accounts. The main electronic tools of the Customer Support Representative are MRP, Costing, and CRM software platforms.
 

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Primary customer contact.
  • Focal point of customer relationships.
  • Communicate with manufacturing, production control, engineering, quality departments, and outside sales team.
  • Manage and modify customer requested delivery scheduled, including expedite requests.
  • Manage quotation / estimating process, including preparation of formal quotations.
  • Contract / order review order entry, and order acknowledgements.
  • Production progress monitoring, expediting, and reporting to customer.
  • Manage customer complaint RMA documentation process.
  • Manage and resolve a variety of problem issues: pricing, payment delinquency, delivery scheduled, etc.
  • Price and quote materials and repeat orders for parts.
  • Function as the expert in multiple electronic systems including MRP / ERP, Costing, and CRM software systems.
  • Maintains and manages customer electronic files, documents, history, etc.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  • Must Have:
    • Professional sales communication skills.
    • Microsoft Office skills including WORD and Excel.
    • Data entry / MRP / ERP experience.
    • Technical / analytical aptitude and capability.
    • Manufacturing and / or business operations experience.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow independently.
  • Preferred:
    • Working knowledge of customer drawings / prints.
    • ISO / QS knowledge and understanding.
    • MRP / ERP system expertise (advanced / expert capabilities).
    • Business understanding (cost structures, margin requirements, inventory management).
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Ability to direct and obtain results from other departments.
