Inventory Control Specialist - Bloomfield, CT

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for issuing shop orders with the appropriate materials to the shop floor, and also maintaining the corresponding inventory transactions in the company's production system.   This position will also have some responsibilities in shipping, receiving, warehouse, alloy room and assist with job order variance review.
  • Receive and issue components and material to manufacturing and material job orders.
  • Weigh and properly transact scrap off job orders.
  • Deliver job orders and material to production floor.
  • Assist in expediting material and products from department to department.
  • Perform inventory transactions in the inventory / production system & other software.
  • Maintain accurate inventories and stock locations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well organized work area.
  • Initiate job order I.D. strips to “Material Visibility Board System”.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Assist with coverage in the alloy room, shipping, and receiving as required.
  • Assist with job order variance review as required.
  • Other duties as required.
  • High School Diploma (must have).
  • College education experience (preferred).
  • Ability to navigate ERP / Inventory Control Software (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (preferred).
  • Must be able to work with small parts and work with tweezers (must have).
  • Must be able to work with weight scales and counting scales (will train).
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills (must have).
  • Must be neat and very detail oriented (must have).
  • Prior inventory control, shipping and/or receiving experience is preferred, however, training will be provided.
