Machinist – Marshall, NC

We are currently seeking a machinist to work in our tool room on day shift, Monday through Friday.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrate an ability to consistently work to +/- .0002 tolerances in fabricating specialized tooling for a cold heading manufacturing company.

Candidate must be proficient in reading detailed drawings.

Candidate must be accustomed to taking instruction from production machine operators when performing repairs.

Know how to safely and accurately operate super precision lathes, surface grinders, wire and plunge EDM’s, hydraulic presses, drill presses, honing and lapping equipment, band saws, Rockwell tester, tool-bit sharpener, and hardening & annealing furnaces.

Have familiarity with creating very small tooling components in ranges down to 0.010”.

Must be capable of accurately and precisely measuring tooling to required dimensions using various measurement devices.

Know how to properly form and shape tool bits for different types of cutting.

Know how to properly indicate tooling and or stock in preparation for cutting, drilling, lapping, or reaming in lathes.

The ability to properly set-up and operate index heads and grinding and milling jigs safely.

The ability to select correct tap or die and use properly, as required.

Know how to safely and accurately operate drill-bit sharpener.

The ability to properly shape and form grinding wheels using wheel dressers and radius wheel dresser.

Know how to safely and accurately operate surface, pedestal grinders and belt sanders.

The ability to safely and accurately set-up and operate honing machines.

Have familiarity with heat treating and annealing processes including preparation of those materials for heat treating and or annealing.

Understand the basics of soldering and brazing processes.

Ability to follow work instruction and communicate with fellow employees and supervisory leaders.

Starting pay is $13.00/hr and up, depending on experience.
