Molding Operator B - Bloomfield, CT
The mold machine operator is responsible for the complete operation of assigned molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and visual inspection of the parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operation of all molding machines
-
The molding operator is able to purge the assigned machine.

The operator is responsible for loading of contacts / inserts into the mold, transfer plate, or other fixture (sometimes using tweezers or fixtures).

Trim gates and flash using fixtures, knives, or other means as required.
-
Package finished parts per shop order instructions.
-
Relieves higher priority machines as required.
-
Operates auxiliary equipment
-
Operate trim, degating, and other tools as required.
-
Operates gram-force inspection and other measuring equipment as desired.
-
Perform all record keeping requirements. Maintain all logs (electronic or paper) and create packaging (including labels) as needed.

Inspect parts

Inspect parts using magnification and other equipment as required.

Maintain data collection as required,
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a good teamwork attitude.

Sands, trims, and performs other off-line duties as required.
-
Follows department guidelines such as filling in logs, maintaining lot and scrap control, and other procedures as required.

Uses good housekeeping practices.

Uses all safety equipment as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Some mechanical ability
-
Be able to use and operate basic switches and controls.
-
Have good hand-eye coordination.
-
Be able to handle small parts with tweezers and other means as required.
-
Inspect for small defects on parts.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Accustomed to working in a manufacturing environment.
-
Experience in working in a team atmosphere.
