The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and Training on all personnel matters.  This will be a part-time position.  The assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to HR in supporting the workforce.  The assistant provides support by answering incoming calls, employee customer service, clerical work, and providing general information to employees and visitors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Answer all incoming calls and transfer to appropriate personnel, page if necessary.
  • Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY in all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist with STD, LTD and DOL requests.
  • Responsible for pre-employment checks, including, criminal, credit, and background checks and ensures proper paperwork is filled out.
  • Assists HR Department with various projects.
  • Performs other clerical functions in support of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Prepares new employee files.
  • Sorts mail from post office and distributes to personnel.
  • Supports training documentation in Unipoint and follows-up on missing information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with the various employee discount programs.
  • Maintain Customer Conference Room supplies, ensuring that it is clean, tidy ready for visitors.
  • Post birthday lists.
  • Maintain safety glasses/shoes reimbursement programs.
  • Coordinate with upper management various company sponsored events.

  • Safety and security—the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience with Human Resources policies, procedures, and regulations preferred.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Fluency with various software programs, such as, Microsoft office (word, excel and power point).
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
