Process Engineer - Bloomfield CT
The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, improving, and maintaining all tooling, equipment, and processes relating to their assigned area within Deringer-Ney, Inc. In addition, the process engineer will support the manufacture of products in other areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assures equipment is kept in top operating condition required to manufacture close tolerance products.

Analyzes close tolerance tooling and suggests improvements to increase output and improve quality.

Reviews new products and suggests improvements to assure manufacturability and economy.

Reviews contacts and assists with administration of outside vendors.

Improve efficiencies through set-up time reduction, run rate improvement, and machine uptime.

Coordinate and organize improvement projects.
-
Provide information and general knowledge for all production-related issues.

Conduct training on equipment and processes.
-
Assures equipment is kept in top operating condition.
-
Ongoing development of associated equipment and processes to reduce costs, increase quality level and increase throughput.

Ongoing support of production as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assures safety compliance in all operations.

Provides hands-on support for machine set-up functions.
-
Evaluates new equipment and technologies that apply to their assigned area.

Provide documentation of all machine settings including work instructions and operation sheets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of relevant processes and equipment.
-
Ability to communicate effectively with all employees.

Ability administer policies and instructions.

Ability to work in ultra-precise tooling environment.
-
In-depth knowledge of tooling design, construction, development and operation.

Basic understanding of material characteristics.
-
Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Ability to analyze and trouble shoot production processes.
-
Must be a team player.
-
Must have Microsoft Office capability.
-
Basic understanding of statistical process control.
-
Must work effectively in an ISO complaint environment.
-
Basic understanding of Lean, 5S, and multiple manufacturing concepts and process.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
A.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
-
5 years minimum stamping process engineering in small parts/high-speed environment.
-
Hands-on knowledge of tooling and equipment.
-
Continuous on-going education through seminars or trade associations.
