Process Engineering Manager

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER directs and coordinates activities of the Process Engineering professionals within the Bloomfield Facility.  He / she is responsible for the development and maintenance of processes and procedures for the manufacture of company products to a consistent quality and cost. He /she will also serves as a generator and coordinator of ideas for process improvement activities and implementation strategies.

  • Coordinate the development of all product manufacturing processes. This includes, but is not limited to, casting, rolling, wire drawing, annealing, stamping, welding, wire forming and plastic injection molding.
  • In concert with management, product development and sales staff determine the engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness of customer demands for new and existing products. In conjunction with the same personnel, coordinate the production integration of new products.
  • Verify the company’s efforts in writing specifications for new processing equipment. Review quotes for new equipment, and present costs to department and site management. Oversees the installation and implementation of new equipment and their production qualifications.
  • Coordinate projects as delegated by the Plant Manager.
  • Lead Processing Engineering investigations into those issues identified by daily metrics, including production output and quality nonconformances. Verify process improvement activities achieve intended results.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts into production problems within the facility.

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:

   Training And Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a engineering discipline.
  • Prefer at least ten - fifteen years directly related experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum five years of Process Engineering Manager experience.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Black belt preferred.

   Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Precision metals manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge and implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Must have excellent team skills, both as team member as well as a trainer and developer.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Experience with process control and new product introduction technologies.
  • Must be able to drive change and introduce innovative solutions for process improvement.
