Punch Press Set-Up Operator 2nd Shift - Bloomfield, CT

An operator/set-up person is responsible for the complete set-up and operation of all Haulick Roos and Bruderer stamping machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-
Set-up and run progressive stamping dies in presses ranging from 10-50 tons.

Select correct tooling and prepare it for a job.
-
Inspecting work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
-
Perform assigned work to production and quality standards.
-
Make routine decisions and problem solving techniques to resolve any issues that may arise.
-
Perform routine preventative maintenance on presses and keep log books up-to-date.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Must have a strong knowledge/background of fabrication, press and/or punch operations including basic setups.
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

High level of attention to detail and consistency of approach.

Needs to be competent at basic Metric measuring.
-
Competency in math is a must.
-
Good communication skills.
-
Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings/layouts.
-
Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.
-
Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
-
Commitment toward quality, safety, and continual improvement.
-
Ability to work frequent overtime.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Physically demanding position, stamina required.
-
Lift, carry, push, and/or pull 1 – 50lbs frequently.
-
Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently.
-
Ability to work in a fast paced industrial environment while wearing vision and hearing protection, steel toed shoes, gloves and any other required protective equipment.
