Research and Development Co-Op – Bloomfield, Connecticut
Work with R&D metallurgists to identify gaps in current materials property data, and perform experiments to fill these gaps.
Projects may include:

Measurement of electrical properties (i.e. electrical conductivity, temperature coefficient of resistance)

Measurement and calculation of physical properties (i.e. density, lattice parameter, specific heat capacity)

Measurement of mechanical properties (i.e. tensile, microhardness, ultrasonic wave velocity)
-
Write two Deringer-Ney “Tech Brief” documents with a meaningful re-interpretation of results extracted from the paper archives and/or newly generated alloy property datav
Qualifications: Engineering student, Junior or Senior, who has completed their core Material Science courses, with at least one Material Science lab component.
