Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Bloomfield, CT
As part of our Process Engineering Team you will be responsible for defining and upgrading strategic manufacturing processes. Design and execute experiments to understand key variables between material, process, tooling and equipment while utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies. Provide technical support to maintain, repair or replace equipment and tooling, to improve both reliability and functionality. Help drive engineering activities for new products and support prototype development runs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy or Materials Science with Green or Black Belt certification.
5+ years of experience in Process Engineering within a high-volume manufacturing production environment required. Automotive or Medical manufacturing experience a plus.
Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery which requires a strong knowledge in both electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience in Design of Experiments and strong statistical skills preferred.
Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Value Stream mapping is required.
Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving.
Ability to work with managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians.
Ability to mentor and train junior Process Engineers.
